Session Introduction This session opens the main agenda of the 2022 Gwangju Democracy Forum, “An Answer to Global Crisis – Collaboration and Solidarity.” In this session, we address a crisis in democracy induced by the COVID-19 global pandemic, regression of democracy and related concerns in Asia countries, including Myanmar, and potential solutions.

Session Introduction This session discusses the actual situation of how videos covering the May 18 Democratic Uprising have been managed and utilized by broadcasting companies, media companies, and institutions and organizations related to the May 18 Democratic Uprising, as well as related problems and ways for improvement. In addition, in this session, the presenters discuss the specific ways to record and organize video journalists’ works for coverage during the May 18 Democratic Uprising and new facts observed and experienced during the works. Therefore, we can link them to the systematic management of reporting video resources of the May 18 Democratic Movement. Furthermore, this session has time to discuss how to develop and inherit historical content for future generations.
