This session begins with a regional overview of the multiparty democracy in Southeast Asia. Then, the presenters update the latest significant issues related to the upcoming communal and general Cambodian elections, an election in Malaysia, the Philippines presidential election, and the Bangkok gubernatorial and general elections in 2022 and 2023. Furthermore, this session discusses the role of media and social media in the past and upcoming elections more in-depth.
