Session Introduction
The crisis of democracy, which people in Myanmar have faced since the military coup d'état occurred in Myanmar in 2021, reflects the pain of the nation-state; it has arisen from the political rule of the military regime while not resolving the issues of civil rights and autonomy of minority tribes. This session introduces the history and significant issues of tribal politics in Myanmar, presents the tasks for the current democratization movement and the living conditions of Rohingya, and seeks ways to integrate Myanmar people. Furthermore, this session has time to reflect on the history and limitations of the National Coalition Government of the Union of Burma. Additionally, the presenters discuss the recognition and implementation of tasks of the NUG’s activities for new nation-building and integration for people.
